LocalTel - Notice history

Tuesday, Sept 30th, LocalTel has scheduled necessary network maintenance from 2:00AM to 6:00AM, in Douglas County. This maintenance is being done to make critical updates to our network infrastructure and will cause a complete internet and VoIP outage for all fiber customers in Douglas county. We anticipate the actual downtime for each customer to be between 15-30 minutes, but we are calling for a longer window in case there are complications.

Date: Tuesday Sept 30th, 2025

Time: 2am – 6am

Scope: All Douglas county fiber internet customers will lose their internet and VoIP services for 15-30 minutes sometime during the maintenance window. All services should be restored by 6am.

Note: We will have tech support representatives available during the maintenance. They can be reached at 509-888-5700.

We will be conducting maintenance in Chelan County on SureStream service in coordination with Chelan County PUD tomorrow, Wednesday morning from 12am-6am. It is not expected to be fully down for the duration of this window, but it will go fully down early on, and then individual nodes will come back online throughout the window.

Next Wednesday, the 3rd, the Chelan PUD has scheduled maintenance from 11:00pm to 6:00am the 4th, in the Welch Ave and Springwater area of Wenatchee.  Please see the information from the PUD below for further details. 

TITLE: Welch Ave Cable Damage

LOCATION: Western Node (Welch Ave)

START TIME: 9/3/2025 11:00 PM

END TIME: 9/4/2025 6:00 AM

Services Affected: All Services

Purpose: Fiber cable serving FDT-034 was damaged causing degraded TV services.

Network Maintenance Notice

When: Friday, August 22, 2025 — 4:30 AM to 7:00 AM 

Purpose: Relocating SkyLink equipment at the Slide Ridge tower.

Affected: All SkyLink customers served by the Slide Ridge tower (near Chelan, WA)

A single extended outage, potentially lasting an hour or longer, will occur between 4:30 AM and 6:00 AM while equipment is moved. After this work, additional interruptions may occur through the remainder of the maintenance window, but they are expected to be brief and minimized.

Thursday, the 21st, the Chelan PUD has scheduled maintenance from 11:00pm to 7:00am the 22nd in the Saddlerock and Sunnyslope areas of Wenatchee.  Please see the information from the PUD below for further details. 

TITLE: OLT Software upgrade

LOCATION: Wenatchee (Saddlerock & Sunnyslope)

START TIME: 8/21/2025 11:00 PM

END TIME: 8/22/2025 7:00 AM

Purpose: This outage is required to upgrade software on OTL.

TITLE: Replacement of Damaged Cable

LOCATION:   Malaga Node

START TIME: 8/21/2025 11:00 PM

END TIME: 8/22/2025 7:00 AM

Services Affected: All Services

Purpose: Technicians will be replacing a section of damaged cable 96 count.

Wednesday, the 20th, the Chelan PUD has scheduled Video maintenance from 11:00pm to 7:00am the 21st, in Entiat.  Please see the information from the PUD below for further details. 

TITLE: Fiber Repair – Hwy 97 Damaged Cable

LOCATION: Hwy 97

START TIME: 8/20/2025 11:00 PM

END TIME:  8/21/2025 07:00 AM

Services Affected: All Services

Purpose: A cable was damaged near Highway 97A between Rocky Reach Dam and Entiat. This outage is for the replacement of the damaged cable section.

Tonight, Wednesday, the 20th, the Chelan PUD has scheduled Emergency maintenance from 11:00pm to 7:00 am, the 21st, in the Western Node area of Wenatchee.  Please see the information from the PUD below for further details. 

TITLE: Low optical signal

LOCATION:   Western Node

START TIME: 8/20/2025 11:00 PM

END TIME: 8/21/2025 7:00 AM

Services Affected: All Services

Purpose: Technicians will be disconnecting the fiber for FDT-034 to troubleshoot a low optical signal from the PON. Outage time should be about 15min during this window.

Wednesday, the 30th, the Chelan PUD has scheduled maintenance from 11:00pm to 7:00am the 31st in Chelan.  Please see the information from the PUD below for further details. 

TITLE: Repair Rodent Damage

LOCATION: Chelan

START TIME: 7/30/2025 11:00 PM

END TIME: 7/31/2025 7:00 AM

Services Affected: All Services

Purpose: This outage is required to repair rodent damage on a cable in FDT-024. In addition to addresses in that zone, the cable contains the feed to FDT-015 and a public circuit.

This Thursday, the 17th, the Chelan PUD has scheduled maintenance from 11:00pm to 7:00am the 18th in the Entiat, Chelan, Manson, Leavenworth, and Plain areas.  Please see the information from the PUD below for further details. 

TITLE: OLT Card Software Upgrade

LOCATION: Wenatchee

START TIME: 11:00 PM 7/17/2025

END TIME:  7:00 AM 7/18/2025

Services Affected: All Services

Purpose:  Upgrade OLT software per vendor recommendation to resolve the LT card reset issue. Expected outage time in the window will be around 30min per node.
